About me
I have a passion for teaching, for engaging with people and helping them to move forward towards their goals. While working in fashion I trained adults, I also trained adults to work with young people when working as a youth worker and I spent 13 years as a secondary school teacher in English education ages 11-16 including exam preparation. Currently I teach English as a second language and have been living and teaching in Bydgoszcz in Poland.
I have experience in teaching English in groups of different sizes and a range of ages and abilities from A1 - C2+. I have taught in business companies and online. My strength is in understanding the needs of my students and scaffolding lessons for them to make the progress they need to achieve, I have taught students with SEND and SEMH needs.
I can adapt my teaching style to suit the needs of my students, and I use a range of teaching styles to make the lessons inclusive, interactive and engaging.
I can communicate grammar points clearly and confidently in a classroom setting when needed and additionally I identify areas of weakness or habitual mistakes and work with a student to explain and correct errors.
My years of teaching experience have enabled me to plan effective lessons which are rooted in the learning points of the lesson but set with in the experience of the students to make learning more personal and therefor effective.
